Tottenham face an anxious wait over Harry Kane’s injury as they prepare to face Champions League holders Real Madrid at Wembley.
Spurs have lost both games in the striker’s absence, to West Ham and Manchester United, and welcome the history-making European giants knowing Mauricio Pochettino has never lost three in a row at the club.
Kane will be assessed in the days leading up to the game but is considered a doubt to start the game, though Pochettino is boosted by the return from suspension of Dele Alli.
A win for either team will see them confirm their place in the Champions League knockout rounds, while a draw and another between Borussia Dortmund and APOEL will leave Spurs needing just a point from their final two Group H games.
Harry Kane’s fitness is the big, and only, issue facing Spurs in the build-up as the striker struggles with a hamstring injury.
When asked about Kane’s availability for Wednesday after the loss to Manchester United, Mauricio Pochettino repeated the ominous “we’ll see” line which was issued in the build-up to the Old Trafford trip.
Gareth Bale is expected to miss the return trip to his former side despite returning to training, while Navas should start despite a niggling groin problem.
